It's no wonder I liked this! With the exception of the white wine, which I really liked, this is the way I've been making Beef Stroganoff since I was a young girl in the early on 60s, from a paperback Sealtest cookbook! (Any of y'all out there quondam enough to think Sealtest Dairy?) 2 minor criticisms, withal. First, it is counterintuitive to cook a pretty decent cut of meat like sirloin for "two to three hours." "Dorsum in the day," when I was making this with circular steak, it was indeed necessary to simmer (braise) the meat in beef broth for an hour and a half or so to ensure tenderness. Simply with sirloin, once browned it didn't need much longer on the stove than it took to pull it all together with the remaining ingredients - x minutes tops. Second, the wine should exist used to deglaze the pan once the meat is browned, non only before serving as the recipe instructs. You want the alcohol to cook off. These, in my view, are ii of import considerations for the success of this dish. Also, while I did non measure any ingredients precisely, I do know I used more goop and less flour than the recipe directs. Finally, don't forget to include pepper with the salt! I served this with hot, buttered egg noodles tossed with fresh chives and a sprinkle of fresh chopped parsley for garnish.

I'grand on a budget so instead of beef sirloin, I used beef STEW MEAT. I made sure that the recipe simmered for a while before I used the stew meat every bit the simmering helps tenderize the tougher cuts of meat. When I floured the meat, I added just a piddling onion powder, garlic pulverisation and fresh footing pepper. I made no other changes. Mine was washed simmering at but under 2 hours. I served this over hot buttered egg noodles. My family INHALED this. Out of the whole skillet, there was a pocket-size corporeality for my married man to take for work the side by side day. This is admittedly delicious. I made this exactly equally directed and got a dish that was creamy, rich with flavor and hearty. My son liked it a lot and he is non a beef fan. Very delicious and easy to follow instructions! This was my first time making Beef Stroganoff; I came to allrecipes.com looking for something my friend described equally having made and I chose this one because it uses the same ingredients. Every bit I was nervous about the meat tenderizing I used a tenderloin roast which cut simmer fourth dimension to virtually nothing. This was one of the best stroganoff recipes I've e'er tried. I just shared some leftovers with a coworker and she agreed. I did add some balsamic vinegar to the stock mixture and I added more than than the called for beef stock every bit the roux was besides thick without it. Very, very tasty!

Delish! And aye, I made this in the crockpot.....used some marsala wine since I had no white wine, and at the end of slow cooking for nearly nine-10 hours, added iv oz. of low fat cream cheese and 1c of low fat sour cream, thick, creamy and delicious! Served over buttered egg noodles, family unit loved...cheers!

Great recipe. I recommend de-glazing the pan with the white vino and increasing the amount of beefiness stock.Any cut of beef tin exist used, increase cooking times for 'tougher' cuts. Philly cheese is a bully substitute for sour cream. Serve with fresh parsley and egg noodles. I take fabricated this recipe many times, its a firm family favorite

Tried this recipe and the family loved it. The lycopersicon esculentum paste makes for a more "rich" sauce than others recipes. I used "Better Than Bouillon - Beef Base" for the stock every bit it keeps very well and is my go to beef stock with bully flavour. I also used Ruby-red vino, equally I traditionally utilise ruby wine with scarlet meat and white wine with white meat. I'g sure its fantastic equally written, a definite recipe to attempt. This was very piece of cake and very good. I used all the ingredients with the exception of leaving out the mushrooms since I didn't have any. Later sautéing the beef and onions I put everything in a slow cooker for nearly 3 hours and added the sour cream at the end. It was a good comfort food dinner.

I tripled the flour and table salt in the first step to properly coat the meat and that left the drippings quite thick so I doubled the butter for both steps and as well doubled the mushrooms. I ran out of wine so I used more than beef stock instead. Likewise only allow it cook for a piddling over an hour. It needed quite a bit of pepper at the terminate but the result was fantastic. I have a simpler, less traditional recipe that I usually use for beef stroganoff simply my exceptionally picky hubby really moaned several times while eating this so I guess this is my new recipe.

This dish was incredible. I hate to sound too "Food Network-y", only the sauce had an unexpected depth of flavor--so rich and delicious. Sadly, at that place were no leftovers. Even though there are only 3 of us, each of us went back for seconds. ***** Note: I didn't accept tomato plant paste, and then I substituted five-Tbsp. tomato sauce. I used Sauvignon Blanc, and I used it to deglaze the pan rather than later in the recipe. I used a "salubrious" bowtie pasta, only I retrieve I'll apply unhealthy egg noodles next fourth dimension. :-D

This was very good. I fabricated it the night before (except for the sour cream and wine). The next day, I heated through with any extra 1/4 to 1/2 loving cup water. Then I added the wine. This is terrific. I have been teaching my teenaged son how to melt and we had not yet made a High german selection. This one proved to be ideal and in no way besides difficult for a beginner. My family liked the flavor of this recipe. I used leftover prime rib, I know that's a strange cut to put in a recipe like this but we had a lot of meat leftover after Christmas and my family was getting tired of it. The only thing I did differently was I didn't brown the meat, I just prepared the sauce with the mushrooms and added the meat. I also added the wine before the simmer. It was very adept.

Good, simply something was missing. It needed more of a beef season in my opinion and less of the love apple. I added a little bit of paprika to the sauce and extra sour cream. 3 stars for me and 5 stars from the rest of my family. Serve with coleslaw and mashed potatoes :)

This was simply succulent, the only thing I changed was as previous rated was the placement of the wine and addition of a tablespoon of Worcestershire. I deglazed the pan after cooking the meat, I could notwithstanding gustatory modality the dorsum drop of the wine and believe if added in the end would exist manner to strong of the vino sense of taste. Great stroganoff recipe. Used Sprouts organic beefiness broth instead of stock (groovy flavor) and sliced very thin leftover medium rare London broil for the meat. Considering the meat was already cooked, I threw it into the pan with the mushrooms and onion when those were nearly done. I simply simmered for a one-half-hour and meat was incredibly tender. My partner said it was skillful, and then corrected himself and said "very good." P.South. I garnished with sliced light-green onion merely parsley would have worked great, too. UPDATE: Had a piddling problem with an overpowering tomato sauce taste. Next fourth dimension I would use simply 1 Tbs and get from at that place.

Bang-up dish, cooking time is depending on the beefiness and how much y'all're working on the flavors. The cut of Sirloin I bought was fix in 20, but I wanted the garlic and onion to Fuze all of their flavors together. I enjoy a spicier flacor, so I threw in a stale chili pepper into the simmer. I also cutting back on the sour cream to a 1/2 cup. I like the savory and the Uma I with a little less bite of the sour foam. All in all, a good basic recipe to make your own.

My husband loved this! I added a splash of balsamic vinegar and included the white wine.I used leftover sirloin beef roast and allow the flavors meld for 1 hr. Also added a few dashes of cayenne pepper and served over egg noodles..... Delish!!

Excellent. I didn't apply any wine and it still tasted peachy. I was worried that simmering with sliced mushrooms in there would atomize them so I put them in after I blended the meat back in to the sauce, and so simmered for an hour. Perfect.

I really liked this minus the sour foam and white wine at the end. My 10 year erstwhile daughter rated it 9/ten and my sixteen year old son rated it 6/ten. Next time I am going to leave out the sour foam and vino. The sauce was better earlier adding it

I cooked this a little differently from the author. I browned the meat in 3 tbs. butter so put the meat in the slow cooker; cooked the mushrooms separately in 3 tbsp. butter until they were brown (about v/6 minutes) put on top of the meat in slow cooker. Used large tin of little onions, drained and into the slow cooker. Then I made the sauce separately as directed and dumped in wearisome cooker. Slow cooker on low 5 hours. Added in white vino terminal 30 minutes. So dumped in the noodles (one-half cooked) and let them soak upward the sauce for ten minutes while making bread and salad. Turned off slow cooker and added sour foam at the very cease. Put chapeau back on for 3 minutes to permit it warm. Don't clean the pan in between cooking the meat and mushrooms. Simply add together in the butter at the terminate and melt the flour for v minutes until it's gilt then add the tomato paste. Let that get hot, so add together the garlic and use half red wine/beef broth to deglaze the pan. All those $.25 are what gives the dish so much flavor.

This is and so elementary but yummy. I did add together some spices to the flour before coating the meat paprika, onion powder, garlic powder (omitted the fresh garlic) and the common salt and black pepper. Afterwards browning the meat and sautéing the onion I put those into a lined crock pot and so cooked the flour I used the flour left over from dredging and deglazed the skillet with ruby vino and added the goop. Didn't take tomato paste so I used ketchup instead. Added it to the crock pot and cooked on low for 2 one/2 hours. It turned out delicious! Thank you!

Succulent and easy to set up. Only thing is the sauce turned out too thick and so I recall I'll either use less flour or more cream at the end. Surely different that than the usual 1 I used to gear up but every bit tasty.

I was looking for something to gear up with ingredients that I had on hand. I had one pound of hamburger meat that I wanted to use up so that was my chief ingredient. I followed the directions the same every bit if making with the sirloin. I wasn't certain virtually sauteing the fresh mushrooms with the meat, merely it turned out fine. As others suggested, I left out the vino. I didn't see any demand for it. Perhaps adjacent time I will add a smidge of vino, but I saw no need to add 1/four loving cup. I served with egg noodles. This was actually good. I added the wine early on like many of the other reviewers and also added a touch of Penzey's Bavarian Seasoning to requite it just a little richer flavor. This spice blend includes crushed brown mustard, rosemary, garlic, thyme, bay leaf and sage.

Every bit I did not have a full cup of sour cream so I topped up the cup with obviously Greek yogurt. Also did not add the white wine. The sauce was nice and thick, The meat very tender as I had let it simmer two i/2 hours. I did add i/two teaspoon of smoked paprika for a little cypher. Hubby said information technology was very tasty. I would make this again without a doubt.

First-class flavor. I used beef stew meat, equally I had information technology on hand and canned mushrooms (over again, had them on mitt). I only simmered for an hour, as I cooked the meat through during browning. I kept tasting it through the entire cooking process and past the time the meal actually came together I was full! I will exist making this again. Very good.

This was amazing! The only "tweaks" I fabricated was to apply ground beef (considering information technology needed to be used) and craven goop with a couple of teaspoons of beef bullion granules. Delicious and simple! This recipe is.a keeper.

We made this exactly as the recipe was written. It'southward a piffling bland simply information technology isn't bad. I agree with some others, it needs a little more beef flavor, mayhap more beefiness stock. I'thousand not sure! I ended up adding a little more salt to my dish when it was done and that helped a little fleck.

I'd been peckish this and it didn't disappoint! The meat was melt-in-your-oral cavity and the firm smelled wonderful on a cold snowy day. Because I had Greek yogurt, I substituted that for the sour cream and the sauce bankrupt unfortunately, simply the gustatory modality wasn't affected. Excellent recipe! You don't have to change a thing. I didn't have white wine so I did a substitute of 1 cup beef stock and two TBSP flour. Wisk the two together nicely( then pour into the beef and veggies while simmering. Then I added the sour cream just before serving.

This was easy and delicious. I used white balsamic vinegar in place of the wine, which added a nice flavour, and is of course made with wine, but I merely used a proficient couple of splashes, and did this before the simmer, non subsequently. I added water every now then as needed. I just simmered for an hour, but it was sirloin, and very tender. I only had canned mushrooms and then that's what I used, just fresh would have been better. I will definitely brand this again.

Lovely recipe! The lycopersicon esculentum paste browns the sauce, nicely. Don't exist afraid of the sauce browning/sticking to the bottom of the pan. It de-glazes perfectly when you add the sour cream and white wine. Proffer: utilize two large portabella mushroom caps chopped into 1 in pieces. They will hold upward better for extended cooking. Simple and delicious!This recipe is cracking and it came out wonderful. I was thinking that for next time to add cherry-red wine instead of white, and possibly a little balsamic vinegar as someone else suggested. I served it over aborrio rice and it was just perfect on a cold day. This sauce was good, but needed a footling more seasoning. I didn't take mushrooms and substituted shredded carrots. The carrots were expert, but I retrieve I'd add mushrooms and carrots next time. This was overall a nifty recipe that I volition made once again with little tweaks.
